Congratulations to our newest alumni, those who graduated on April 30. This batch of alumni is quite diverse in age, ethnicity/nationality, and field of study. Some studied online and some studied in a traditional classroom, but most experienced both. Some new alumni are continuing in their dream jobs, while others are looking for a starting point and a foot in the door. What an exciting, and for some, terrifying, time.
As the semester was closing, I followed a caravan of cars and trucks as they were leaving campus. The vehicles were filled to capacity with clothes, pillows, books, lamps, computers, etc. as they left for the summer. When we think of alumni it is easy to remember these on-campus students, however, half our recent graduates are considered non-traditional, meaning they do not fit the typical profile of an 18-22 year old completing a bachelor’s degree and living on campus. We celebrate all our alums, old and new, no matter what stage of life you are in. Congratulations class of 2016 and welcome to the Alumni Association.
